Exploitation? No!  Well... yes, but that's the point. When we conceived this graphic back in the 80's skateboarding was in the middle of a boom and their was an influx of crappy equipment being sold in toy stores and sports chains trying to capitalize on the popularity. Sounds familiar doesn't it? Many skaters began to be irritated by some legitimate skate companies that were engaging in some quetionable marketing strategies in an attempt to expand their empires beyond the core audience attempting . So the point of this graphic was to convey how sleazy the industry was becoming. While we will admit that it also apealed toour adolescent nature, the correlations between the sleazy skateboarding industry of the 80's and the new millenium are as strong as ever.
