How's it coming? When the hell will it be done? According to sources at Skaters For Portland Skateparks, Dreamland has had to deal with mountains of red tape and other bureaucratic delays that have ballooned the original time and cost estimates. It seems like the whole thing could have been done easier and quicker without the Park District and City of Portland's involvement. Well, except for the whole "not quite having enough money" factor. The problem is, once Public money became involved, it automatically raised costs due to certain procedures that had to be followed.
So here you have it. Mark Conahan from SPS (Portland) has the keys. He acted as chaperone so I wouldn't be encouraged to jump any fences. Thanks Mark. Also, please don't tell my wife that I took my 11 month old son on a construction site. See panorama three.
If you haven't already, check out the demolition pics and the demolition session pics.
The first two pictures are larger panoramas and will open in a new window. The rest are regular thumbnails. Can’t remember what it looked like? Scroll down to see two pictures from 2002.
