Chixdiggit!: From Scene to Shining Scene

Label: Honest Don's

Release Date: 2000

Review Date: 2001

I bought this CD solely on the cover: a duotone of a headless guitar player, legs spread, cranking out some power chords on a stickered up Rickenbacker. Very Ramonesesque. Guess what? I made a great buy! The music is exactly what I expected from the cover. High energy, humorous pop-punk. Catchy as hell, funny as fuck and over before you know it. Highlights are "My Dad vs Paul McCartney", "Sweaty and Hairless", and "Folks are Gone" , which features a reference to the Goonies. The low moment is "Moto Foxe", which sounds like a Grand Funk Railroad song or something. Parody is fine, but when it sounds just as crap as the original thing and goes on far too long, then it's time to stop. They're from Canada for those of you who worry about such things.

Good. This gets 7 stars.

You'll like this if: you like The Descendents.

Hey Corporate Types: Why not send in your skateboard gear for review. We promise to review it promptly (unless it is raining or we are busy or lazy). If we think it sucks, we'll get a second opinion. We even pass stuff on to a lucky reader. We love product.
