Tommy Guerrero: A Little Bit of Somethin'
Label: Mo Wax
Release Date: 2000
Review Date: 2001
Tommy Guerrero is also a musician of sorts. A Little Bit of Somethin' is an unassuming low budget release full of groovy low-fi trip-hop, ambient, soundtrack-type tunes with plenty of flow. This kind of thing isn't usually my bag, but I dig the soundtrack to "High Art," and so should you. There may not be any tracks that are real attention-grabbers, but there typically aren't with this type of fare. Everything is richly layered, except when it's not. I like it. Yes, It's the same Tommy Guerrero that searched for Animal Chin. Would I have bought it had I not known that? No, but I didn't actually buy it anyway. Would I recommend it to fans of the genre or anyone who needs good make-out music? Yes, because chicks will think you're hip.
Buy this if you like Tortoise. Oddly enough, according to Amazon.com, customers who bought this title also bought Quiet Riot.
